Best Views on Arrival (Buda Bank)
Take M2 to Batthyány tér. From here, it’s 3–6 min to the river with postcard views of Parliament across the Danube and quick access to Buda-side docks.
Option 1 — From the City Center (Deák, Vörösmarty, Ferenciek)
Best if you’re staying near the main squares on the Pest side.
- Walk: From Vörösmarty tér it’s 6–8 min to Vigadó tér docks along the promenade.
- Metro: Deák Ferenc tér (M1/M2/M3) → walk 8–12 min via Deák → Deák Ferenc utca → promenade.
- Tram 2: Ride to Vigadó tér or Széchenyi István tér stops—both steps from popular docks.
Tickets
Single BKK tickets or 24/72-h travel cards cover metro, tram and bus. Validate paper tickets on board or at gates.
Option 2 — Metro & Train (Quick for Most Visitors)

Trams for the Views

Docks are signed by number/name (Vigadó tér, Akadémia, Batthyány tér). Check your ticket/voucher for the exact pier and boarding time.
Option 3 — Buses & Scenic Walks
Several buses reach the river within minutes; most visitors prefer walking the flat promenades for views of the Castle District, Parliament, and bridges.

From Budapest Airport (BUD)
100E Airport Bus → Deák
Direct to Deák Ferenc tér (~35–45 min). From Deák, walk 8–12 min to Vigadó tér or take Tram 2 one stop.
200E + M3
200E to Kőbánya-Kispest, then M3 to Deák. Slightly longer, valid on travel cards.
Taxi/Ride-hail
30–45 min to the river in normal traffic. Ask for drop-off at Vigadó tér or Batthyány tér depending on your dock.
Shuttle/Transfer
Useful with luggage or groups; many services drop at central hotels within a short walk of the promenade.
Luggage
Promenades are paved and flat. If you plan long walks before/after a cruise, consider leaving large bags at your hotel or a locker.
Driving, Parking & Bikes
Driving
Central riverside streets can be busy and have paid/limited parking. Use garages near Vörösmarty tér or Bazilika and walk 6–12 minutes to the docks.
Parking
Look for underground garages in District V (Pest) and near Clark Ádám tér (Buda). Check opening hours and fees.
Bikes & E-scooters
River paths are bike-friendly. Dismount in crowded areas; park only in designated zones to avoid fines.
Accessibility
Many docks have ramps; gradients vary by pier and river level. Contact operators in advance for assistance.
Practical Tips
Arrive Early
Be at the pier 20–30 min before departure for boarding and seat choice—especially at sunset.

Golden hour into night shows bridges and Parliament at their best. Winter cruises are cozy indoors.
Tickets & Vouchers

Public Boats (Seasonal)
BKK D-line river boats run seasonally and are useful for short hops; schedules and routes can change—verify on the day.
